Yu Haokai, a native of Laiyang in Yantai - the picturesque coastal city renowned as Shandong Province's "Coastal Fairyland" - has charted an impressive academic path. After earning his Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Engineering from Zaozhuang University, he continued his academic journey at Tianjin University of Science and Technology for graduate studies. His research pursuits later brought him to the Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he joined the Li Lab as a joint-training master's candidate in January 2024.

Specializing in the study of distilled spirits' post-consumption comfort and ethanol metabolism's impact on human health, Yu aspires to dedicate his career to scientific research that benefits public wellness. With plans to pursue doctoral studies, he aims to deepen his contributions to health science.

Beyond the lab, Yu embodies vibrant energy and approachability. An enthusiastic badminton and table tennis player, he also enjoys swimming, running, and fitness training. His athletic achievements include completing two full marathons, testament to his disciplined spirit. A natural communicator with a passion for public speaking and poetry recitation, Yu thrives in social interactions and is always ready to help colleagues navigate both life challenges and scientific puzzles. His adventurous spirit extends to traveling, where he eagerly explores new destinations to savor local cuisines and immerse himself in diverse cultural experiences.
